We aim to be the most accessible tissue culture lab in New England. Located just 30 minutes north of Boston and an hour from Maine, our lab allows tropical plant and other growers of any skill level the easy access to all the benefits of plant tissue culture. We offer hands on tissue culture classes as well as online classes to make this knowledge accessible to everyone. We also offer on-site tissue culture lab services. What is plant tissue culture?
A tissue culture plant is simply a clone of a plant grown from a small piece of plant tissue, such as a stem or leaf. First, the plants are fully cleaned of all pathogens. They are then introduced to a 100% sterile environment with every nutrient and hormone needed to grow into an entirely new healthy plant that is identical to the mother plant. In our plant tissue culture lab, we can clean and preserve that rare cultivar or endangered philodendron. We can then take that clean plant and turn it into hundreds or thousands of identical plants to meet your needs.
